The VANTAGE HIGH PERFORMANCE BLOG

So here it is, my first ever attempt at writing in the public space. Personally, having always been a keen reader of newsletters, books, articles or blog entries from some of those I consider to be knowledgeable, inspiring, innovative coaches and leaders in their respective fields, I'm now taking on the creative beast of consistent writing myself.

I'm hoping the content I put on paper inspires you to read on, reflect on your coaching or thoughts, action any changes and share the ideas with those in your circle. At the same time, I know that won't apply to everyone. Some people will read my work, others won't. Some readers will enjoy the content. Some readers won't. Some readers will learn. Some readers won't learn a thing. All of these outcomes are absolutely fine. The content I write will be as much for myself as it will be for my audience, and will allow me to reflect on my thoughts, beliefs and biases and ultimately help me find clarity in this information heavy world.

What am I hoping for from the blog…

  • Expand on my experiences and thoughts on professional tennis

  • Explore current research & become the centralised-hub for the 'science of tennis'

  • Explore options for performance innovation within tennis

  • Provide thought provoking insights and ideas that may challenge the 'Status-Quo'

  • Collaborate on topics with fellow S&C coaches, tennis coaches, discipline specific experts and practitioners from other areas of performance (e.g. nutrition, psychology)

Hopefully you are still with me as we look forward to Entry 2, where I explore and reflect on working in a sport that is constantly on the move and the challenges this presents in trying to create an environment to optimise athletic performance.
